Pantry Ninja Privacy Policy

This policy describes what Pantry Ninja (the “App”), published by RetiredInfoGeek, LLC (“we”), does with your information. The short version: your pantry stays on your device, we run no ads, we don’t sell anything about you, and the only data that leaves your device is what Apple and our subscription processor need to run a subscription.

What the App stores, and where

  • Your pantry data (items, categories, locations, store names, aisle numbers, shopping lists, your chosen user name) is stored only on your device. We have no server that receives it. Backups you create are files on your device that you control.
  • Your preferences (text size, default store) are stored on your device.

The App does not require an account, login, email address, or any personal information to work.

Subscriptions

Pantry Ninja offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions (Bronze, Silver, Gold) purchased through Apple’s in-app purchase system.

  • Apple processes the payment. We never see or store your payment details. Apple’s handling of your purchase is covered by Apple’s privacy policy.
  • RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) validates purchases and tells the App which level you own. For this it stores a purchase history for your App installation and a random anonymous identifier generated by the App. This identifier is not your name, email, Apple ID or device serial number, and we cannot use it to identify you. RevenueCat’s privacy policy is at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.

In Apple’s App Store privacy labels this is declared as “Purchase History” and “User ID”, used for app functionality, linked to you, and not used for tracking.

What we do not do

  • We do not show advertisements and do not use any advertising network.
  • We do not use analytics or crash-reporting services.
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with anyone, and have not done so.

Notifications

The App asks permission to send notifications at first launch. They are created on your device only, and are used to remind you during the grace period after a subscription lapses. You can turn them off in Settings at any time.

Children

The App is rated 4+ and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Your choices and rights

  • Delete the App and all pantry data on the device is removed with it.
  • To ask what RevenueCat holds under your anonymous identifier, or to have it deleted, contact us (below). The identifier is shown as “Support ID” on the User Info tab, under Subscription.
  • Residents of California, the EU/UK and other regions with privacy laws have rights of access, correction, deletion and portability. Because we hold no personal data, these requests normally apply only to the RevenueCat purchase record, which we will forward and act on.

Changes

We will post changes to this page and update the date above. Material changes will also be noted in the App’s release notes.
